GRE stands for graduate record examination and it must be written if you are aiming to do masters in United States of America. The duration of GRE exam is two and half hours and it has two sections one being quantitative and the other is verbal. Quantitative section deals with the math questions and is easier than the normal math  it has two kinds of questions one being the normal problem type and the other one is comparison type problems where you have to compare two quantities and say which one is bigger. The verbal deals with the English words and the questions will be in the form of antonyms, sentence completion, reading comprehensions and analogies. The GRE is for one thousand six hundred marks and it is a computer adaptive test. You need to have a little luck while writing the GRE as the computer alone evaluates your test and the marking style or pattern is also known only to the computer.
